Watching videos on the smartphones comes as a great source of entertainment, news, tutorials, etc. And in 2017, we are not satisfied unless we can watch them anywhere and at any time. The only thing that might have stopped us is cellular data usage which doesn’t come cheap at all. But we are smart enough to save on the cost of entertainment, right?
Facebook, along with YouTube, is the top stakeholder when it comes to video streaming on smartphones. And we feel it’s our duty to tell you some tricks to download Facebook videos and watch them offline on your Android device without spending any extra cellular data.

Save videos for watching later within the Facebook app

In July 2016, Facebook released an update for Android which let users watch saved videos while offline. Initially promoted as a part of Facebook’s campaign to battle poor internet connection, this feature had first arrived solely in India and then became available for Android users worldwide.
To save the video for later watching within the Facebook app, you just have to:
1. Click the dropdown menu of any video;

2. Select “Save Video;”

3. The footage will appear in your “Saved” directory;

 The feature is convenient and works fast. So, you can easily save and watch videos offline from wherever you are. However, it doesn’t let you download these videos straight to your phone. Instead, it keeps the files within your Facebook app, which means you can only access offline videos in the app itself.
But what if you want to download the videos on your phone and watch them in a different player? We have you covered on that as well.

Use a third-party app for downloading

Some apps exist for that exact purpose — downloading videos from Facebook. And we won’t keep them from you.
The most efficient and reliable app of this kind is MyVideoDownloader for Facebook. It has a simple and straightforward interface which lets you find and download Facebook videos in a few taps.
When you launch this app for the first time, you will be asked to log in using your Facebook account.

Once you’ve done it, the app will show your wall feed and the sidebar which will help you get to specific sections like:
  • Explorer;
  • Watched videos;
  • My videos;
  • News Feed;
  • Other videos
  • Bookmarks;
  • Downloads.
Each of these sections navigates to specific pages and groups to browse videos
Explorer imitates the Facebook’s main page, where you can scroll your feed, visit your friends’ pages, receive notifications, and search for videos. And News Feed section shows only news which has video content in them so that you can avoid all irrelevant stuff. You come to this app for downloading videos after all.
My videos section is divided into Liked videos, Saved videos, On my timeline, Shared with you, and Tagged videos. So, as you can see, it’s easy to find the video you need by going to the specific category it is located at. And of course, every video is available for downloading.

So, let’s get to the point. How to download the videos to your device?

First, you might want to go to the Settings column and make some adjustments. There you can check the box near HD download option, which will let you download the videos of the highest quality available. Then, you can choose the destination storage where all the downloaded videos will be located.

After that, you are ready to go and find the video you’d like to download. Once some funny doggos are in your sight, you just need to tap on the video and choose Download in the pop-up window. In my example, it’s Ellen DeGeneres, though. Is her show worth to download? Let me know in the comments.

 Well, that’s it. You tap it and then see the downloader catch the file and save it in the directory you chose in the settings.

Now you can watch this downloaded video on any video player you have installed on your device. If you asked me, I’d recommend MX Player or VLC Player.
MyVideoDownloader for Facebook works flawlessly and luckily you can download it right here. We want to make sure it helps you for a long time.
But still, if you guys find any of these tricks no longer working, reach out to us in the comments, and we will do our best to come up with a new trick for you.
